Apprenticeship careers advice for school leavers

Apprenticeships Advice for School Leavers

I recently interviewed Susan Smith for The Apprenticeships Podcast.

Susan has over 25 years experience working with career changers, university graduates and students as a careers adviser and is a great advocate of degree apprenticeships. She is on a mission to empower parents and teens with the knowledge and resources they need to create career clarity, find focus, decide direction and apply action.

Useful Resources

I asked Susan to share some resources for those interested in apprenticeships. Here is a selection of useful websites:

Susan also has some great resources on her own website…

Free Career Booster Blue Print: https://www.allthingscareers.co.uk/f/career-booster-blueprint

In our chat, Susan explained her role as a registered careers adviser and the qualifications and experience that entails. Students often “don’t know what they don’t know”, and careers advice is there to help them with this.

Many students go to university because they don’t know what they want to do. Further and higher apprenticeships are a fantastic route into top organisations. They’re not a soft option. Getting hired as a university graduate instead can be much harder.
